Emmanuel Macron tells the Young People on the Move that he needs them "in two years, in five years and in ten years"
The President of the Republic made a surprise appearance at the rally celebrating the 10th anniversary of "Youth with Macron," now known as "Youth on the Move," this Saturday. During his speech, he stated that he intended to take action over several years.

Is Emmanuel Macron already looking ahead to 2032? The President of the Republic was the surprise guest at the 10th anniversary meeting of "Young People with Macron," held at the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris on Saturday, July 5. The evening also saw the group change its name, now calling itself "Young People on the Move."

During his speech, Emmanuel Macron called on his camp to remain "united." He also affirmed that he would need the support of the young population.

A few minutes earlier, on the same stage as him, Gabriel Attal hinted that he would be a candidate in the 2027 presidential election . He said he wanted to "offer a path" to the French for 2027.

But the President of the Republic stole the limelight from the former Prime Minister, saying he wanted to act in the coming years.

The two men have been notoriously at odds since Gabriel Attal's time at Matignon and the announcement of the dissolution, on which the latter had not been consulted.

"If, in the next two years, we spend our time talking about 2027, doing nothing, being in calculations and divisions, it will be none of us. So, let's act. Let's stay united. Let's be responsible and work for the country," he declared to the applause of his supporters.

The head of state then spoke of the importance of the Jeunes en Marche for the future. "I also need you in two years, in five years, in ten years, because you will be there and because, count on me, I will be there with you," he assured.

The President of the Republic cannot run again in 2027 due to the Constitution, but nothing prevents him from being a candidate in 2032.

Above all, at a time when ambitions are growing within the government coalition, with Edouard Philippe already campaigning, and the presidents of LR and Renaissance Bruno Retailleau and Gabriel Attal in the running, the president wanted to point out that the next two years must be "useful".

"I hear too many debates today that are already thinking about 2027. We will have to think about it. But why, why in 2015, did you stand up? (...) For the country," the head of state continued.
